In taking a closer look at it, there are no chain tensioning adjustments that can be made so it was either live with a loose chain that pops off all the time or remove a link. There is the other option of getting a new chain, however, a new one will stretch out as well so it seemed logical to go ahead and see if removing a link in the chain is effective. The result was successful, however, the chain was just a little tighter than I'd like. Since I was going this anyway, I figured I'd go ahead and make a video on it.

The trick is to make sure your file is perpendicular to the bar and then at the 30 degree angle (marked on the file). File each tooth of the chain the same amount of strokes. I usually like to start with 5 or 6. Once you file all of the teeth then you can file down the rakers using the same principle. This demonstration tutorial was done on a Stihl Farm Boss MS271. This saw has not let me down and have put it through a lot of abuse so far. Runs best with a nice and sharp chain.
