DIY Troy-Built Riding Mower Blade Sharpening Tutorial-Sharpen that Dull ...

Thanks for checking out my DIY blog here. Well the first thing you have to do is figure out how to get the the mower safely off the ground without having it fall on you. The best way is to use a lift of some kind but definitely if nothing else, use some jack stands for safety. Once off the ground you'll need two wrenches so you can apply counter torque to the bolt and nut holding the blade on.
Loosen the long bolt and nut that holds it in place and this will allow the blade to come free. Once you get the blade off, secure it to a saw horse and bust out your grinder. Every good DIY technician has a hand held grinder. Then put your handiwork to the test and hone a new edge on that mower blade.

After you sharpen your blade, reinstall it, and get cut your lawn for the first time, you will be so happy as it's just like cutting the grass with a brand new mower. You will also take extra precautions not to hit rocks, dirt, sticks, plastic bottles, kids toys, and baseballs just to see what they look like chopped up.

If you are tired of pushing a mower around the yard, save yourself a bunch of time and have a little fun by buying one of these mowers below on amazon. Or hell, upgrade to a new one.
